Welcome to the Merritt Mountain Biking Association website. Here you will find information on local trails, events and supporting businesses of the association.
About the Association:
The MMBA came into being in Spring 2000 with the intentions of advocating for land access. The MMBA was the first mountain bike clubs in the province to have an agreement for trail management and trail construction with the Ministry of Forests (now actually Ministry of Tourism, Sports, and the Arts). We are quite proud of this as it goes along way towards ensuring long term land access for riders. As of March 2008 our agreement ran out. With the newly announced trail strategy perhaps we will see some movement that will help us move towards a new agreement with the crown. In the long run we hope to be recognized trail users and to have our trails designated as official recreation trails with the province. Still outlaws.
CowTrail Classic, Sunday May 3rd:
Check out the Cow Trail Classic event! This race is a great event for beginners and recreational racers alike. Expect top racers participating, as well as weekend warriors, just for the fun of it.
Once again the Cow Trail Classic is a Cycling BC sanctioned race but we decided not to be a BC Cup race this year as it involves extra officialness which may get in the way of our fun.
